FAQs:

How much is the stipend?

The annual stipend is $45,000/year.

Can I do a half-time, two year experience?

At this time, the Consortium is accepting full-time applicants only.

What are the requirements to apply for internship with OKPPTC?

To apply for an internship, one must have completed the required academic coursework within a doctoral degree-granting program readying the applicant in Health Service Psychology.  In the State of Oklahoma, the statute requires any doctoral degree in the areas of clinical, counseling, or school psychology to be accredited (either fully or provisionally) by the American Psychological Association (APA).  It is important to note that graduation from a non-accredited program in any area that is accreditable by the APA (clinical, counseling, school) would be ineligible for Oklahoma licensure as a Health Service Psychologist.  The prospective intern from a clinical, counseling or school non-APA accredited program would not be prohibited from participating in OKPPTC but would not be licensable in Oklahoma secondary to the APA program accreditation requirement in state statute.  OKPPTC can serve as an appropriate internship for jurisdictions wherein the psychology licensing board accepts the applicant’s program.

What if I didn’t match and need to start internship at a time other than typical (August 1-July 31)?

At this point, OKPPTC has the flexibility to start an internship at any point in the year. However, it’s noted that the didactic training provides an opportunity for collegial relationships throughout the training year. Starting and ending at varying times can impact the development of those supportive relationships.

How many direct service hours will I be able to experience?

On average, an OKPPTC Psychology Intern can expect up to 20 hours of supervised direct health service provision per week.  The Capstone Model is graduated, and thus, the Psychology Intern’s service provision will be far less initially, growing as the necessary competencies are demonstrated.
